Bolivia Maps:

Bolivia is a completely landlocked country located right in the heart of South America. With an area of 1,098,581 square kilometers, Bolivia is South America’s fifth largest country, sharing borders with a total of five countries; Peru to the northwest, Paraguay to the southeast, Argentina to the south, Brazil to the north and east, and Chile to the southwest and west. Bolivia, known for its unique and varying terrain, is split into three main geographical regions, the Altiplano, a moderate and mountainous region home to a mix of populated cities and rural sectors, the Yungas, a humid and highly elevated subtropical region consisting of sharp and rugged terrain, and finally the Llano, lowland plain that includes both tropical rainforest and treeless savannah. While there are technically three different regions, the system of Bolivia is dominated by two mountain ranges the Cordillera Occidental to the west which runs along the border of Chile and the Cordillera Oriental to the east whose spectacular northern section near La Paz is called Cordillera Real (Royal Ranges). Despite Bolivia being regarded as a highland mountainous country with a third of of its land in the Andes, most people believe Bolivia’s most impressive geographical feature is Lake Titicaca, South America’s second largest lake trailing only Lake Maracaibo, which Bolivia shares with Peru, and is located in the northwestern region of Bolivia. Although Bolivia lies wholly in the tropics, climates vary from arctic snowy cold to equatorial heat. In conclusion, from the snow capped mountains of the Cordillera Real to the muggy rainforest of the Yungas, Bolivia is an incredibly diverse and encapsulating country filled with stunning geography.
